            Artist Interview
Tell us a little about yourself?
I am from England and when I’m not making art I work as a chef.
How and when did you start getting into Pokemon/vaporwave art?
I’ve been making Pokemon based artwork since early 2018. Before this I mainly made surreal landscape art in the form of collage art by cutting up vintage Nat Geo magazines for several years. At some point in 2017 I began incorporating my love of the vaporwave aesthetic into this art, adding digital effects to my traditional practice.
            What inspires you?
Escapism. All of my art is about immersing myself in fictional worlds. Even as a small child I was making my own Pokemon cards and stories. I’d draw made up Pokemon maps, make pretend wanted posters for Star Wars characters, craft Lord of the Rings weapons like bows and arrows with elvish writing on them, make Harry Potter wands and pretend shopping lists for Diagon Alley and homework for Hogwarts. It was all about expanding the lore of these places I loved, blurring the boundaries between these imaginary worlds and our reality.
This caused problems when I was studying Fine Art at university, I despise conceptual art and most of the contemporary theory based art gallery world. I like simple beauty and craftsmanship. My tutors at art school were always pushing me to make political art and to try address social issues with it, which just isn’t something I ever felt comfortable doing. It was dragging the worst parts of our reality into that one sacred peaceful place I had, art.
A genuine quote from my art tutor “It’s just too nice. What do you hate? Try making art about that.” I couldn’t wait to leave, get my degree and go make the art that genuinely expresses myself. Which is what I’m doing now and surprisingly lots of other people love seeing what I make too which inspires me all the more.
What other genres of art do you like?
Aside from my beloved 90s inspirations like vaporwave, pixel art and the whole aesthetic movement I love 80s styles like outrun and synthwave. Just from a purely visual stand point I really love North Korean and Soviet artwork. There’s a bold simplicity to it that I admire and even the more traditional Korean art full of floral patterns and pastel colours.
Traditional Japanese wood block prints are sublime, as well as old Chinese ink drawings. Gothic cathedral architecture are some of the most awe inspiring structures on the planet to me. I love the photomontages of Superstudio too, an Italian architecture movement from the 60s. Anything from the retro-futurism genre excites me.
            What's your process?
It’s so wide and varied because of the number of mediums I jump between and often too chaotic, undisciplined and chance based to give a simple coherent breakdown of. I often sit down with zero plan or idea of what I’m going to make. This keeps it exciting for me.
How did you learn to do graphic design?
I studied graphic design at college for 2 years, then Fine Art at university for 3 years but honestly I learned very little in terms of technique or form. It was 95% theory. I taught myself Photoshop on an outdated French version I couldn’t understand, it was a lot of trial and error and just playing with every button and setting I could find. I learned a lot by just messing around making memes.
            What artists do you follow?
Here’s a few from my Instagram I particularly enjoy:
            • Khaled @kldpxl makes some of the best pixel art I’ve ever seen. There’s many great pixel artists I could list but he is definitely my favourite.
            • David Jien @david_jien has created a fantastical world full of characters, places and stories that are drawn and sculptured in just the most detailed, exquisite, colourful imaginative style. His art looks like pencil drawn gameboy tapestries from out of space. Fully recommend following his work.
            • @8pxl_  Again another sublime pixel artist, she particularly inspires me with her colour choices.
            • Oliver Hamlin @oliver_hamlin I regularly browse his art, it’s full of quaint, gorgeous, playful and creative watercolour paintings of Pokemon.
            • Jesse Treece @jessetreececollage is someone I’ve followed for the longest of time, learned a lot from him. Master of composition.
Do you have any other hobbies you love?
Football or soccer as some may call it. I don’t really follow it anymore but I love playing it. I’m obsessed with nutrition and food, meme culture and Youtube. I obviously love anything and everything Pokemon, the cards, the anime, the games etc. I play too much Pokemon Go.
If you could catch and have one Pokemon as a pet, which would it be and why?
100% ABRA. We could communicate telepathically. It sleeps 18 hours per day. It’s kind of like having a cat that floats and can teleport me and itself places. Maximum laziness and hates being around people, I respect it.
If you could live in any year, what year would you choose and why?
2077 so Keanu Reeves could wake me up to go burn a city.

            Love it!

Overall, I love this hoodie! It looks rad as hell and is incredibly comfy! My only gripe is that these all-over print ones seem to fit a little small. I ordered what would normally be a baggy size on me and it's kind of tight. I don't mind it since it's not restricting but it's more form fitting than I would like. If you love the print, I still recommend getting it, just making sure to go up a size or 2.

Waited more than month for them to send it. Also gay Eric is sending me spam 2 times a day. i have requested him to stop sending me ANY emails and delete my info. Only to get mail from third party after 4 week asking how was my experience. Dont even have product yet, but my experience is horrible already.

            I'm sad

Took 3XL hoping it would fit. It didn't. I'll probably give it to a friend or something, but it really bummed me out. Shame you don't make these for us fatties :(

The print is amazing, and the fabric is thin but nice to the touch.

Purchase 3 hoodies almost a month ago only received 2 out of the 3 paid 172.00 Very disappointed quality is ok not soft like regular hoodies very stiff material. If I don’t receive my 3rd Mario hoodie I will call my bank for a dispute

The design is awesome and I love how the purple color comes off a bit shiny. Also having the design on the back too is great. No regrets purchasing this one.

I really like the hoodie but when it arrived it had a odd smell which meant i had to wash it a couple times before I could wear it.

                                      So soft!

My fiancé couldn’t resist when he saw this item in the shop. Now I can’t seem to separate him from the sherpa 😅

                                      So warm and comfy!

It's really soft and feels delicate but is very well made. I wish there was a button so it could be fashioned around the neck, but that's something we can make happen at home. I would buy it again!

                                      Love this!!!

Super comfy and the fleece lining is very soft and fuzzy. This is been a work from home god send!! Only complaint would be that I wish there was a way to fasten it around the neck so it would stay on without the hood. Otherwise it’s flawless

                                              Better than expected!

I ordered the Gengar blanket hoodie for my brother. I was a bit hesitant at first because it was pretty pricey, and lately some stuff I’ve ordered on the internet from other businesses ended up being poor quality. So ordering this blanket hoodie was a gamble. When it arrived, I was amazed with the print job and the softness of the product. It was definitely better than I expected it to be. Shoot, now I kinda want one!

                                                      Great warm blanket

I'm genuinely surprised an official version like this doesn't exist. Snorlax would be perfect for a blanket. And it is.

I really love the print. I got this, because it has a Mareep and I have Mareep pillowcases. It being a practical blanket just makes it even better!

                                                      Anyway, it's nice and warm.

I bought a snorlax blanket and it’s very soft and thick. The blanket size is actually very big you can wrap yourself all around like a burrito in it. I would definitely be purchasing more things in the future. The item I purchased also was delivered really fast

                                                      Description

There is evidence that suggests that wearing masks, even homemade ones from pillowcases or t-shirts, might help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. A homemade mask seems to be better than nothing, but is less effective than a surgical mask, which is less effective than an N95 mask. (NYTimes, Boston Globe, full sources)

The first priority is to manufacture N95 and surgical masks for our healthcare workers. However, our US-based manufacturer is not qualified to make medical masks.

What we can do is make non-medical, non-N95 cloth face masks out of our existing micropoly fabric for our customers. With the current pandemic, I think it's our responsibility to do what we can to help, and this is what we can do.

$1 per 3 masks sold will be donated to Flexport.org, a shipping company that's getting personal protective equipment (PPE) to the front lines in the US.

                                                      Important

                                                      • You must wash your masks after every wear to prevent the risk of contamination
                                                      • Do not allow these masks to give you a false sense of security.
                                                        • They should be used in addition to social distancing, hand washing, and local / state / federal / science-based recommendations.
                                                      • These masks are non-medical, non-N95 are not approved for medical use whatsoever

                                                                                A.Z.
Fairly Decent Quality, Resolution Could Be Slightly Better

I've purchased a hoodie from Publicspace before and the manufacturing is pretty consistent between them. This is a fairly thin hoodie and is probably best for early fall and late spring weather. The pastel colors shown in the image look pretty close to the actual hoodie. Another hoodie I purchased though was much shinier due to the polyester, which was unexpected. I do like the printing (DTG, I'm guessing) as opposed to traditional screen printing, because the ink used in screen printing always cracks after enough wash/dry cycles.
My main problem is the resolution of the graphic could be slightly better. You can see a bit of aliasing/jagged edges at the bottom of the blue circle, the clouds, and a few other places, and a bit more on pink borders of Eevee.
Lastly, although it might have been because of the holidays, the hoodie wasn't shipped until over 3 weeks after the order was placed, even though manufacturing time is quoted as 1-2 weeks.

2077 so Keanu Reeves could wake me up to go burn a city.

Female buyers be warned - The light blue circle and wave part of this shirt is quite sheer so your bra will be obvious. Fixable with an undershirt, but if you don't like the hassle or extra layer this one probably won't be a good choice.

Also, for anyone looking for a translation: It's in Korean, the top says 포켓몬스터 (Poketmonseuteo - Pokemon), the bottom says 꼬부기 (Kkobugi - Squirtle)

The inside is very soft to the touch. I do recommend buying a size bigger than you think you might need, as these run a bit slim. The outer graphics look great! Might even buy another pair just to have on hand! Love it!!! <3

Yee in the 2019 Pokemon cypher wearing this shirt, I knew I had to have it. Being a pokemon fan, and of course and fan of burger king, it just hit me in my heart and my stomach at the same time. Hahaha. The shirt fits perfectly and the fabric feels amazing. Plus the Nidoking in the Burger logo with the nidoking head on top is amazing. I can't wait to buy more stuff from this site.

The hoodie was good quality and the print was nice, however the fit was not right and now I have a hoodie that I cannot return and my son doesn't have one of his Christmas gifts!

Master of composition.

I don’t really follow it anymore but I love playing it. I’m obsessed with nutrition and food, meme culture and Youtube. I obviously love anything and everything Pokemon, the cards, the anime, the games etc. I play too much Pokemon Go.

Maximum laziness and hates being around people, I respect it.

The hoodie is great. It's a but thin which is nice for winter in the south where I live, or I guess fall/spring up north. The main thing to watch out for is that the background color of the hoodie isnt dark gray as it appears in the pictures, but rather a dark navy blue. Regardless it looks great and the design is very vibrant and clean and stands out, plus very high quality print. Its polyester but it feels comfortable to wear.

My only issue is that I bought two different designs in the same size and they both fit slightly differently. They both fit, but one is just a little tighter than the other, so maybe add that to your product descriptions.

There’s many great pixel artists I could list but he is definitely my favourite.

His art looks like pencil drawn gameboy tapestries from out of space. Fully recommend following his work.

Master of composition.

Football or soccer as some may call it. I don’t really follow it anymore but I love playing it. I’m obsessed with nutrition and food, meme culture and Youtube. I obviously love anything and everything Pokemon, the cards, the anime, the games etc. I play too much Pokemon Go.

We could communicate telepathically. It sleeps 18 hours per day. It’s kind of like having a cat that floats and can teleport me and itself places. Maximum laziness and hates being around people, I respect it.
