 I have to be honest. I never had an N64 (except for that one week when CJ and I swapped Playstation / N64 consoles). But I still have Mario Kart nostalgia. I probably liked the N64 more than the Playstation because I only got to play them at friend's homes.

This image is from the Japanese cover art. I've been going through a real phase with vintage print ads and video game covers. I think that most graphic T designers draw too much inspiration from other clothing brands, and not enough from the world. This, along with most of the other stuff I make, is my small attempt to rectify that.

I never had an N64, I was a Playstation kid, but my friend CJ would occasionally bless my home by bringing his Atomic Purple N64 over. I remembered swapping with him once and realizing that I could button-mash on Tony Hawk to get high scores. What simple pleasures.

This one was a doozy. I initially thought about just doing a blue and pink gradient, but it was too easy, and it just looked like every other pair of vaporwave shorts out there. Then I remembered the Atomic Purple / clear purple controllers, and found a nice water shimmer that I could fuck with to get that right shade of purple.

there's not much i can or need to say about the metroid t-shirts. they. are. fucking. awesome. i flipped an absolute shit when we placed the graphic on the t-shirt.

it's funny how different graphics look on their own versus on a garment. the standalone graphic was cool, but nothing special. the interaction between the t-shirt silhouette and graphic creates some magic that i can't explain.

i have such nostalgia for infomercials. our family used to watch an ab roller infomercial on a chinese news program over dinner, and we got one, and of course it did nothing. and even though the products in infomercials are so different, the graphics are always the exact same.

obviously there wasn't ever a gameboy infomercial, but this is the kind of re-imagined nostalgia that makes me laugh and feel something for an event that never happened.
